Meet The Tutor
I'm James and I have over a decade and a half of drumming experience, both live and in the studio, and was educated at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute in Brighton, where I studied all the different aspects of the world of drumming and music and received a degree in professional musicianship.
With over five years of teaching experience, I bring a flexible and friendly approach that works for players of all levels. Whether you’re a complete beginner eager to start playing the drums or an experienced player aiming to elevate your skills, I’m here to help. I’m genuinely passionate about the drums and excited to share my knowledge with you, guiding you towards your drumming goals! Plus, I’m DBS certified and a member of the ISM (the UK’s largest professional musicians’ organisation), so you can rest assured of my professionalism. No matter your age or skill level, I’m the perfect tutor for you!

If you'd like a way to track your progress or want the opportunity to earn some UCAS points, we can take you through the Trinity College London Rock and Pop syllabus, supporting you through the grading process.
We offer students the opportunity to record audio and video of what they've been learning! whether they want to show it to friends and family, upload it to Social Media or use it for a demo for their band, the choice is yours!
We understand that the needs of every student are different and our approach to reflects that, with a wide and flexible curriculum that will help you achieve your drumming goals.
